Saturday 17th March is Film Night when we will be showing The Time of Their Lives, a British road comedy film starring Joan Collins, Pauline Collins and Franco Nero. At the New Bridge Community Centre, doors open 7 pm, film starts 7.15 pm, admission £5 to include draw and coffee and biscuits. Note this has been re-scheduled from March 3rd because of the extreme cold weather.
The film is a feel-good comedy starring Golden Globe-winner Dame Joan Collins, BAFTA-winner Pauline Collins, and Italian heartthrob Franco Nero. Determined to gatecrash her ex-lover’s funeral on the glamorous French hideaway of Îe-de-Ré, former Hollywood siren Helen (Joan Collins) escapes her London retirement home with the help of Priscilla (Pauline Collins), a repressed English housewife stuck in a dwindling marriage. Pooling their limited resources, they hit the road in a race to get to Île-de-Ré, becoming entangled in a love triangle with a reclusive Italian millionaire (Franco Nero) along the way. On this unforgettable journey, they find true friendship in one another – and have the time of their lives.
