Local History Evening – “In Search of Great Grandfather”
This month’s talk by Alan Banks is “In Search of Great Grandfather” – a story of discovery based around one of the soldiers declared missing on the Somme during the First World War. We meet at the New Bridge Community Centre at 7.30pm on Thursday October 26th, admission £2 to include coffee and biscuits. Everyone welcome.
Film Night, 4th November
On Saturday November 4th our film will be I Daniel Blake, a Ken Loach film starring Dave John and Hayley Squires which tells the story of a widowed carpenter’s attempts to navigate the welfare system after he suffers a heart attack. At the New Bridge Community Centre, doors open 7pm, film starts 7.15pm, admission £5 to include draw and coffee and biscuits. Visitors welcome.
