Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service recommend that every Tuesday we all take the time to test our own smoke alarms. Use Test It Tuesday to check smoke alarms of family and friends as well.
Working smoke alarms save lives. There are many examples where lives were lost as a smoke alarm was installed but not working. Recently a man in Leominster tragically died in a house fire.
Fire can strike at any time and a working smoke alarm alerts you to the danger so that you have the best chance of getting out safely. Regular testing your alarm ensures, that should fire start, you will be given the warning you need to escape.
As part of its commitment to reducing the number of fires in the home, Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service offers free Home Fire Safety Checks to residents across the two counties. Find out more
